At Aurromira, our manufacturing hub nestled in the Dooars — the fertile foothills stretching along the base of the Darjeeling hills — every tea plant starts its life as a sapling. Carefully grown from cuttings in individual grow bags, each young plant is nurtured under green shade nets that protect it from harsh sun and heavy rain.
Row after row, thousands of saplings grow slowly and steadily inside the nursery. Each one is tended with patience, watered with care, and watched closely — until it reaches 18 inches in height. Only when a sapling reaches this height is it considered strong enough, rooted enough, and ready to be transplanted into the garden fields — where it will one day produce the leaves that reach your cup.
